Leaves are almost exactly triangular in shape, mint green in color, and have the stem (petiole) attached to the back of the leaf rather than the edge

Persicaria perfoliata (Polygonum perfoliatum): mile-a-minute
Plant Identification:
- Growth form: vigorous, barbed vine that grows up to 6 inches per day
- Leaf: alternate, pale green, and shaped like an equilateral triangle
- Flowers: flowers are small, white, and generally inconspicuous
- Fruit: berry like, attractive deep blue fruit arranged in clusters at terminals. Each fruit contains a single reddish-black hard seed
